Finding the perfect gift is hard for everyone, so we've included a guide to gift-giving to make your life a little easier. We hope we can take some of the guesswork out of finding jewelry that will make her smile.
In our guide we've included information about how to pick an item she'll love, how to choose the right color, and how to know what size will fit.
Picking Out an Item
First of all, it helps to pay attention to the jewelry she already wears. For instance, if she often wears necklaces, it means she likes to wear them and will probably be happy to receive one as a gift. Also, if she has an infant, a bracelet is usually a better idea since babies tend to pull at long, dangling necklaces.
Watch her clothes as well. The way she dresses gives a clue into her personal style. Here is a breakdown of our products based on the women who might like them most.
Pearls: These are a perfect gift for a woman with classic, traditional style. They are especially appropriate for career women who need to look professional at work or for women who attend dressy events such as gala fundraisers, concerts, or the opera. If you are not sure if she already has a strand, consider getting them in a color other than the traditional white (we currently offer gold, but you can request other colors by emailing info@jewelrytailor.com. See the guide below if you have difficulty choosing a color). Our Woven Pearl Bracelet is also a good choice: since our designer created it, there is no way your gift-recipient could have one unless she bought it from us.
Beadwork: An excellent choice for women who love unique, artistic jewelry. It works well for dressy occasions, but is also appropriate for women who want jewelry that can go with a casual outfit.
Swarovski Crystals:If you are still not sure what she'll like, go with our Swarovski jewelry. These sparkly and feminine crystals are incredibly popular with women of all ages.
Choosing the Right Color
Pay attention to the clothes she wears. If she wears a certain color often, it means that she likes that color and would probably be happy to receive jewelry that matches it.
Consider buying jewelry that matches her eyes, especially if they are blue or green.
Picking the Right Size
If you want to be absolutely sure that a bracelet will fit, you should measure her wrist. However, if you want your gift to be a surprise, here are some hints to help you pick the right length.
Guide to Bracelet Sizes
The standard bracelet size in the industry is 7in., so if you bought a bracelet anywhere else, this is the size you would receive. 7in. is a good bet for most women (please note we cannot make any guarantees about fit because women, unlike bracelets, do not come in standard sizes!).
If she has a large or extra petite wrist, you may want to get a little more information. If she lives in your household, try measuring one of her favorite bracelets when clasped. Note that a bracelet is longer if an interlocking clasp is undone, so clasp it and measure around with a piece of string. You could also ask a member of her household to do this for you if she doesn't live under the same roof.
If that's not an option, find one of your female relatives that is about the same size as your gift recipient, and measure her wrist.
If you still don't know what size to get, don't worry. Consider getting a necklace instead.
Guide to Necklace Sizes
Necklace sizing really isn't that crucial, but here are a few things to consider if you're having trouble.
If she is sensitive to items around her neck (ie. if she is the type who hates turtlenecks) try a longer length for more comfort and freedom of movement.
If she likes to wear turtlenecks often, on the other hand, longer length is also a good idea so the necklace doesn't press uncomfortably against the collar of the shirt.
If she wears formal attire to work, try a shorter length so the necklace will show above the collar of a suit-jacket or blazer.
Any size looks good with a T-shirt or other shirts without a thick collar.
We hope this information has been helpful to you. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at info@jewelrytailor.com. |
